Independent Federal Member for Indi Dr Helen Haines has announced the successful volunteer organisations sharing in $66,665 following a highly competitive volunteer grants program that attracted 141 applications.

Across the electorate, 25 organisations will receive grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 to help cover costs including insurance, communications, equipment, training and volunteer-led activities.

Dr Haines said the successful organisations reflected the breadth of volunteering across Indi.

“Volunteers are at the heart of so many things that make our communities work – from emergency services and sporting clubs to supporting people experiencing hardship, helping young people and caring for our environment.

“These grants are competitive, with 141 organisations applying this year and only 25 able to receive funding. “Congratulations to all the successful organisations, and thank you to everyone who took the time to apply.”
